Terms of Service

Who We Are

Skyscanner (referred to as "we", "us" or "our" depending on context) provides online travel search services (including flight, hotel, and car rental comparison services) and other travel-related services (the "Services") to travelers worldwide via our website, apps, and other platforms (the "Platforms").

Skyscanner is not a travel agent and therefore is not responsible for providing, setting, or controlling the prices for any travel options or products you find and book through our Services ("Third-Party Travel Products"). All Third-Party Travel Products are provided by independent travel agents, airlines, hotels, tour operators, or other third parties ("Travel Service Providers") and are subject to the terms and conditions of those third parties.

The entity providing our Services and Platforms is Skyscanner Limited (a limited company incorporated and registered in England & Wales with company number 04217916). Other legal entities that directly or indirectly control, are controlled by, or share control with Skyscanner in this context are referred to as the "Skyscanner Group". You can view more information about us, including mailing and registered office addresses, on our Company Information page.

These Terms

These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our Services and Platforms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and How Skyscanner Works. By accessing or using the Services or Platforms, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms as well as the terms in the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and How Skyscanner Works.

We may offer additional services or platforms (with separate terms and conditions applicable to your use of those services). In such cases, you will be clearly notified, and those terms will replace or apply alongside these Terms, depending on the specific context.

We may, at our discretion, modify these Terms at any time. If the Terms are updated, we will publish the revised terms and conditions, and you will be deemed to have accepted all amendments if you continue to use our Services or Platforms after the revised terms have been posted. If you do not accept all parts of these Terms, you should not use our Services or Platforms.

Use of Our Services

You may only use our Services and Platforms in accordance with applicable law and for lawful purposes. In return for your agreement to these Terms, we grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive license to download, access, and use our Services and Platforms for your personal, non-commercial use only and for no other purpose. This license is granted on the condition that you agree not to:

  1. use the Services or Platforms for inappropriate or unlawful purposes; or post, share, or transmit any material that is: (i) unlawful, harmful, defamatory, offensive, obscene, or objectionable; (ii) infringes the privacy or rights of any third party including copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights; (iii) posted, shared, or transmitted for advertising or promoting yourself or any third party; (iv) misleading or misrepresents your identity or implies sponsorship, affiliation, or association with Skyscanner in any way; or (v) shared without obtaining the necessary rights or permissions in advance;
  2. use the Services or Platforms for any commercial purpose or in any way that may harm Skyscanner or damage its reputation;
  3. decompile, reverse engineer, or reverse translate any software, application, update, or hardware included in or available through the Services or Platforms, except as permitted by law;
  4. copy, distribute, publicly display, sell, rent, lend, or otherwise exploit the Services or Platforms; or intentionally violate or bypass any security measures implemented to restrict access to or use of the Services or Platforms;
  5. use or interfere with the Services or Platforms in a manner that may damage, disable, overload, impair, or compromise our systems, security features, or interfere with other users;
  6. introduce or transmit through the Services or Platforms any code, virus, worm, trojan, or other harmful component; or engage in "denial-of-service" or "spam" attacks;
  7. remove, alter, or replace any copyright, trademark, company name, logo, or other proprietary notices on the Services or Platforms; or mislead or attempt to mislead others into believing that the Services or Platforms belong to anyone other than Skyscanner.

You also agree not to use any unauthorized automated computer programs, software agents, bots, spiders, or other software or applications to scan, copy, index, organize, or exploit our Services or Platforms or any data contained therein. Skyscanner has made significant investments in collecting, processing, and presenting thousands of travel data providers and providing access to travel data via commercial APIs, so any violation of this provision constitutes a serious breach of these Terms, and Skyscanner has the right to take any technical or legal measures to detect and restrict unauthorized automated access to our Services and Platforms.

When you register to use our Services or Platforms with an account or login credentials, you are responsible for keeping your login information and password confidential and secure. If you know or suspect for any reason that your login information has been compromised, please notify us immediately via the Support Desk.

Our Services and Platforms are not intended for children under 18 years old, and individuals under 18 are not permitted to provide information to or through our Services or Platforms. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18, and if we become aware that we have collected or received personal information from a child under 18, we will delete that information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

If any part of our Services or Platforms is hosted on a third-party website (e.g., Facebook or another social network) and that website has its own terms of use, you also agree to comply with those terms and conditions in addition to these Terms.

Sharing Information with Us

We value your privacy and operate in compliance with applicable data protection laws. You acknowledge that any personal data (as defined in our Privacy Policy) you submit to or through our Services or Platforms may be used by us in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You agree to ensure that all personal data you provide to us is accurate and up-to-date, and that you have obtained all necessary consents, licenses, or approvals to allow us to use that information under these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

When you submit any suggestions, comments, improvements, ideas, or other feedback ("Feedback") to us, you assign (and cannot revoke) all intellectual property rights contained in that Feedback to us and acknowledge that we may use and share the Feedback for any purpose at our sole discretion. You may submit Feedback to us by clicking the "feedback" tab or through the Support Desk.

Skyscanner Property

Except as otherwise stated in these Terms, all intellectual property rights, including copyrights (including software copyrights), patents, trademarks, trade names, design rights, database rights, know-how, trade secrets, and confidentiality in our Services and Platforms (collectively, "Intellectual Property Rights") are owned by or licensed to Skyscanner. You acknowledge that in using our Services or Platforms, you acquire no rights, ownership, or interests in or relating to the Services or Platforms, except for the limited license to use the Services or Platforms granted to you under these Terms. Additionally, you acknowledge that you do not have access to the source code of the Services or Platforms unless the source code is released under a license that specifically grants such access.

Third-Party Property

We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you have a reason to believe that content on our Services or Platforms infringes your copyright, please send a written notice of the alleged infringement to illegalcontent@skyscanner.net. You may also contact us in writing at:

Skyscanner Legal Department
Quartermile One, 15 Lauriston Place, Edinburgh, EH3 9EN

To assist us in resolving any alleged infringements and to provide a valid notice (if required) under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (handled by the Legal Department), please include the following information in your notice:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed;
  2. Identification of the allegedly infringing material and sufficient information for us to locate the material on our Services (URLs linking to the material are acceptable);
  3. Sufficient information for Skyscanner to contact you, such as your address, phone number, and email address, if available;
  4. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, the copyright owner’s agent, or the law;
  5. For claims under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), a statement that the information in your notice is accurate, that you understand you may be liable for perjury if false, and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner, along with your handwritten or electronic signature.

Illegal Content

Primarily, Skyscanner is a price comparison website, and most of our content consists of pricing information provided by our trusted third-party partners. We also receive some images and review content from partner hotels. The entities providing review content to us are reputable third parties in the travel ecosystem and have strict rules that users submitting reviews must comply with.

We promptly handle any reports related to illegal or harmful content. Illegal content may include hate speech or harmful statements, discriminatory content, illegal products, fraudulent content, or violations of intellectual property rights.

If you become aware of or have a reasonable suspicion about illegal content on our Platform, please visit the Privacy, Trust, and Safety Centre to report it.

If you need to contact us regarding other matters, such as questions about travel itineraries or one of our partners, please contact our Help team or email us at help@skyscanner.net.

Disclaimer on Price Accuracy and Warranty

You assume all risks when using the Services and Platform.

Although we enforce strict policies on price accuracy with all Travel Service Providers that supply data to us and have made every effort to ensure that content displayed on or through our Services and Platform is up-to-date and accurate, we cannot guarantee the reliability or accuracy of such content.

Similarly, our price forecast information is based on historical price trend data we have, but nothing guarantees that our forecast information will be accurate.

We provide the Services and Platform on an "as-is" basis and disclaim all warranties, conditions, and guarantees of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of ownership, non-infringement, merchantability, and accuracy, as well as any warranties implied by course of dealing, course of performance, or usage of trade. To the extent permitted by law, we make no representation or warranty to you that the Services or Platform (a) are accurate, complete, or up-to-date; (b) will always be available; (c) will meet your expectations; or (d) are secure or free from errors, omissions, defects, viruses, or malware.

Price Forecast

Skyscanner may provide you with flight forecast information if you choose to sign up for price alerts. Price forecast information is the best estimate we can provide at any given time based on historical trend data we have. Nothing guarantees that our forecast information will be accurate, as prices and availability depend on third parties, as explained above. While you may choose to rely on our forecasts, we do not and cannot guarantee their accuracy and will not be legally responsible for cases where forecasted prices are inaccurate or no longer available.

Booking Travel Services via Skyscanner

Skyscanner is not a travel agent and therefore is not responsible for providing the travel options displayed through the Services or Platform, nor for setting or controlling the prices we display. All third-party travel products you find and/or book via our Services or Platform are provided by independent Travel Service Providers.

Skyscanner facilitates your booking with Travel Service Providers but is not liable to you in civil or legal terms for your booking. The identity of the relevant Travel Service Provider, along with the terms and conditions that apply to your booking request with them ("Travel Service Provider Terms"), will be communicated to you at the time of booking, and you are responsible for reading and understanding these terms before completing the booking. The sole exception to this is when you book via Skyscanner Travel Services (a service with its own terms and conditions). Unless a booking confirmation is issued to you by Skyscanner, you will not fall under this exception.

The Travel Service Provider Terms will specify your rights with respect to that Travel Service Provider and explain their legal responsibilities to you in case of any issues.

You agree to fully comply with all current Travel Service Provider Terms. You acknowledge that violating these terms may result in ticket cancellations or reservation cancellations, revocation of frequent flyer miles and other benefits, as well as additional fees.

If you have used our Platform to book two or more related travel products within 24 hours (e.g., separate flight and hotel bookings made within 24 hours), this may be considered a "Linked Travel Arrangement" depending on your location and applicable consumer protection law. When a Linked Travel Arrangement is formed, you will not receive the same level of consumer protection as when booking a flight and hotel together through a single agent (i.e., you may not receive the benefits applicable to a travel package booking). This means each Travel Service Provider will provide services separately to you, and you have no legal basis to hold the organizer or retailer of the package responsible. If any of the providers involved in the Linked Travel Arrangement becomes insolvent, you will not be entitled to protections under the European Union Package Travel Regulations.

Limitations and Exclusions of Liability

These Terms set out the entire obligations and legal responsibilities of Skyscanner in relation to our Services and Platform.

Skyscanner is not responsible for any arrangements between you and third parties arising from your use of our Services or Platform (including, but not limited to, Travel Service Providers). If you encounter issues with booking services via Skyscanner, you acknowledge that you will resolve the matter with the relevant Travel Service Provider and that the Travel Service Provider will be solely responsible for addressing such issues (including refund obligations), not Skyscanner. Links to third-party websites and resources included in our Services or Platform are provided solely for your information. We have no control over the content of these websites or resources and will not be liable for those websites, resources, or any loss or damage that may result from using them.

You may see advertising materials posted by third parties on our Services or Platform. Each advertiser is responsible for the content of their advertising materials, and Skyscanner is not responsible for such materials, including but not limited to any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we (together with our officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, suppliers, and third parties) accept no liability for (a) any inaccuracies or omissions in the content displayed on or via our Services or Platform; or (b) acts of God, accidents, delays, or any form of special, exemplary, punitive, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage (including, but not limited to, loss of profits or savings), whether arising under contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other legal theory, arising out of or in connection with your access to, use of, or inability to access or use our Services or Platform or content on our Services or Platform.

Under these Terms and to the extent permitted by law, our maximum liability to you, arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your access to, use of, or inability to access or use our Services or Platform, shall be limited to the amount of GBP 100 (one hundred pounds).

Nothing in these Terms will limit or exclude (a) our liability for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence, fraud, or misrepresentation; (b) any liability that cannot be excluded by law; or (c) your statutory rights.

Your Liability to Us

Under these Terms, you shall be civilly and legally liable to us for any actions, claims, proceedings, costs, damages, losses, and expenses (including but not limited to legal fees) incurred by us, the Skyscanner Group, and each of our officers, directors, employees, and agents arising out of or in connection with your use of our Services or Platform or your breach of these Terms in any form.

Termination

Skyscanner may terminate any agreement with you under these Terms at any time upon notice to you and/or, if you have a login account, deactivate your membership and access to the account and remove any User Content you have uploaded to our Services or Platform. Skyscanner may suspend part or all of your access and use at any time without notice (for example, to prevent you from uploading User Content) and will not incur any legal liability to you.

General Provisions

You acknowledge that unauthorized use of our Services or Platform may cause irreparable damage or injury to Skyscanner and/or its affiliates or licensors that cannot be remedied by monetary compensation. Therefore, in the event of unauthorized use, we and our affiliates and/or licensors (if any) shall have the right, in addition to any other legal remedies available, to seek immediate injunctive relief against you.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable (in whole or in part), it will not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions (in whole or in part). A provision deemed invalid or unenforceable by a competent court of jurisdiction will be considered deleted from these Terms.

These Terms apply solely to you. You may not assign all or any part of your obligations under these Terms to any third party without our prior written consent.

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us and you and supersede all prior terms, conditions, agreements, and arrangements relating to your use of our Services or Platform.

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or limit our right to enforce it in the future.

A person who does not agree to these Terms shall have no rights to enforce any part of these Terms.

Regardless of the country from which you access or use our Services or Platform, to the extent permitted by law, these Terms and your use shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales, and you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales for any disputes arising from these Terms. If you use the Platform or Services for commercial purposes or through an unauthorized automated program prohibited under the "Use of our Services" section of these Terms, you agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales for any disputes arising from these Terms, unless otherwise provided in a separate commercial agreement between us governing your use.
